Position Summary

The Security Officer reports to the Security Supervisor. In this role you will assist the Security Supervisor. This position operates under direct supervision and mentorship of the Security Supervisor. Security Officers will be responsible for protecting BOK Center and Arvest Convention Center and visitors staff and vendors on a 24 hour 7 day per week basis.

This role will pays a wage of $18.00 to $21.00 per hour depending on experience cleet certification and other factors.

For FT roles: Benefits: Health Dental and Vision insurance 401(k) savings plan 401(k) matching and paid time off (vacation days sick days and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until May 23 2025.

About the Venue

The Bank of Oklahoma Center also known as the BOK Center is located in downtown Tulsa and serves as the premier sports and entertainment venue of the region. Offering 19199seat multipurpose arena and 565000 total square footage designed to accommodate concerts family shows and other special events the BOK Center has been named one of the countrys best venues.

The Arvest Convention Center (ACC) located in the Arena District in downtown Tulsa is a modern and awardwinning venue providing over 275000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Owned by the City of Tulsa for over 50 years the ACC has been host to every kind of event imaginable and proudly serves the citizens of Tulsa and guests from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and operates closed circuit surveillance access control and fire alarm systems.
  • Vets all visitors/contractors verifies appropriate credentials and prevents unauthorized access to the premises.
  • Patrols all properties as required and ensures in a friendly and professional manner the security of employees contracted building partners and visitors.
  • Detects and resolves immediate safety and criminal issues; responds to the scene of an incident and acts as an emergency first responder if required.
  • Acts as property first responder to alarms medical calls property damage etc.
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality on sensitive issues.
  • Maintains accurate notes and log information as required; ensures that all passon information is communicated to the next shift.
  • Completes all activity logs incident reports repair forms and other documents in a clear concise and legible format in a timely efficient manner.
  • Performs person and package/parcel screening according to policies and procedures.
  • Conducts detailed internal investigations into incidents and provides detailed objective reports for each shift or incident.
  • Attends briefing and training sessions to ensure complete knowledge of policies and upcoming events.
  • Greet all clients employees guests and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Follows established security protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Represents the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work day evening and overnight shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to climb stairs walk and stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs. unaided.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks & work in a fast paced environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills a must.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work well unsupervised.
  • Ability to bend reach pull twist and lift a variety of objects.
