Job Title: Senior Project Manager/ Practice Leader (Civil Engineer)

Department: Land Development

Location: Raleigh NC

Reports To: CEO

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineering Practice Leader to spearhead the growth and development of our civil engineering practice. This individual will possess exceptional technical expertise strategic vision and a talent for business development to lead our civil engineering team and deliver exceptional services to our clients. The ideal candidate will be a skilled project manager team builder and client relationship expert.

About the job:

The functional areas and responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager/ Practice Leader (Civil Engineer) are as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Practice Development and Strategy: Craft and execute a strategic growth plan for the civil engineering practice identifying new market opportunities expanding service offerings and setting performance targets.
  • Business Development and Client Relations: Proactively lead business development initiatives cultivate strong client relationships prepare winning proposals and secure new contracts.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical expert and mentor overseeing project and ensuring the quality of design deliverables in compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Operations Management: Manage the financial performance of the practice including budgeting forecasting and resource allocation. Oversee operational efficiency identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Recruit mentor and develop a highperformance team of civil engineers and support staff. Create a positive and collaborative work culture to attract and retain top talent.
  • Project Management: Oversee the project management process ensuring projects are delivered on time within budget and to the highest quality standards. May directly manage complex highvisibility projects.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E. license.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABETaccredited program. Advanced degree (Masters or MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering demonstrating expertise in areas such as site development transportation water resources or other relevant sectors. A proven track record of success in business development project management and leadership roles is essential.
  • Technical Excellence: Indepth knowledge of civil engineering principles design practices construction methods and local regulations.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business development financial management and strategic planning.

  • Communication and Presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to deliver persuasive presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and People Management: Demonstrated ability to inspire motivate and develop a team of engineers.
  • Problemsolving and Decisionmaking: Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities in complex project environments.
