Job Description Summary
The Instructor has the responsibility for instructing a variety of Criminal Justice courses utilizing traditional classroom management and distance learning technology.
Duties
1. Teach courses in the Criminal Justice Technology program; 2. Develop course syllabus teaching materials activities and handouts for each section/course taught; 3. Prepare and deliver lectures; 4. Research and maintain currency in the related areas of expertise through professional development activities; 5. Utilize technology and innovative techniques for instruction; 6. Abide by all policies standards goals and objectives of the College the Emergency Services Division and the Department; 7. Participate in assessment planning implementation and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality; 8. Maintain accurate student records; 9. Ensure that all college reports and requested information are submitted promptly and accurately to the Department Chair; 10. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.
Minimum Requirements
1.A. Masters degree in Criminal Justice; or B. Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in a related field (Example: Public Administration or Public Affairs) and 18 hours of Masters Level Criminal Justice 2. One year or more experience of teaching instructional or training programs.
Preferred Qualifications
1.A. Masters degree in Criminal Justice; or B. Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in a related field (Example: Public Administration or Public Affairs) and 18 hours of Masters Level Criminal Justice 2. Five 5 year or more experience of teaching instructional or training programs. 3. Ten or more years of work experience in the Criminal Justice field. 4. Experience using college information databases such as Moodle and WebAdvisor.
