Job Description
The Role:
We are on the lookout fora Senior Software Development Engineer (Sr. SDE) with deep expertise in Single SignOn (SSO) Identity & Access Management (IAM) and authentication protocols to lead the integration of multiple products into a unified login experience.
This role will focus on designing implementing and maintaining secure authentication flows working closely with backend teams frontend developers platform engineers and product owners to deliver a seamless crossproduct user experience. You will also help establish best practices around identity security and authorization.
Responsibilities:
SSO Design & Implementation:
Design and implement SSO solutions enabling seamless authentication across multiple webbased products and platforms.
Integrate identity providers (IdPs) using protocols such as SAML OAuth2 OpenID Connect (OIDC) and JWT.
Build or enhance authentication and authorization microservices token issuance validation and refresh flows.
Lead the design of secure session management and user identity federation.
Collaboration & CrossTeam Integration:
Work closely with frontend and backend teams to integrate SSO into applications while ensuring usability and security.
Collaborate with data teams to ensure authenticated and authorized access to data pipelines and dashboards.
Align with Platform SRE and DevOps teams to manage identity service deployments scalability and monitoring.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure SSO and IAM implementations follow security best practices and regulatory requirements (GDPR CCPA etc..
Implement rolebased access control (RBAC) and support multitenant environments where necessary.
Conduct code reviews with a focus on security vulnerabilities and IAM best practices.
Agile Delivery:
Participate in all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning daily standups sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Break down complex authentication requirements into actionable development tasks.
Collaborate with the Business Analyst and Product Owner to clarify technical feasibility and dependencies.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on SSO IAM and securityfocused development.
Define best practices reusable patterns and architectural standards around identity and authorization.
Monitoring Support and Continuous Improvement:
Monitor authentication services in production for performance failures and anomalies.
Investigate and resolve live issues related to login token expiration and crossproduct session handling.
Stay updated on emerging identity technologies standards and security threats.
Requirements:
5 years of backend development experience with a focus on authentication security or IAM systems.
Expertise in SSO protocols and frameworks (SAML 2.0 OAuth 2.0 OIDC JWT).
Strong backend development skills in PHP (Laravel preferred) or other modern backend languages (Node.js Python Java).
Experience integrating with identity providers (Okta Azure AD Google Identity Auth0 etc..
Solid understanding of session management CSRF/XSS protection and token security.
Familiarity with RBAC multitenant systems and access control design patterns.
Proficiency with Git version control and modern Agile development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in microservicesbased authentication architectures.
Familiarity with cloudbased identity management (AWS Cognito Azure B2C GCP Identity Platform).
Exposure to data lakehouse authentication layers and securing data pipelines.
Knowledge of DevOps principles around secure deployments and CI/CD for identity services.
Contributions to opensource identity or SSO projects (bonus).
