SUMMARY

The Sr. Training Specialist (Paint Trainer) will be responsible for training upskilling and creating training content for operations around metal finishing Sanding/masking priming topcoat painting and defect removal. This candidate will facilitate training in small groups or 1:1 environment.

This candidate be leveraging electronic teaching presentations lecture handson props and demonstrations. The candidate will frequently work independently. Being selfdriven is key function for success in this role. Working as a team is also important. This candidate must have strong verbal communications and a positive working relationship with all team members as well as:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitating automotive painting process.
  • Providing training around safely operating tools used in the Paint department.
  • Properly setting up spraygun equipment to operate properly per the materials being applied.
  • Properly preparing surfaces for body filler.
  • Sanding body filler to accept primer.
  • Identifying defect what causes them and how to avoid them.
  • Repairing paint defects.
  • Coaching team members around performing tasks in a safe manner according to safety policies.
  • Providing other team member support as needed.
  • Communicating information positively and effectively.
  • Creating written and live training curriculum and materials.
  • Developing designing and building training props.
  • Performing Training Needs Analysis.
  • Developing training materials following the ADDIE or ADDEDD model.
  • Demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Publisher PowerPoint excel Articulate).
  • Reading a ruler to the 1/32 of an inch.
  • Submitting a writing sample that describes a written instruction for performing a task (upon request).
  • Facilitating an inperson 15minute training process/demonstration (upon request).
  • Provide a painting sample upon request (Inperson sample)
  • Demonstrate paint defects correction (removal and refinish) Designs develops and delivers curricula courses and associated materials in all available/appropriate training media on a variety of topics
  • Attend offsite professional development classes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to cover the training needs of different shifts.
  • Ability to work with different work schedules.
  • Ability to think outside the norm to bring new ideas to the team.
  • Ability to professionally grow from coaching and student feedback.
  • Must be able to travel 30.
  • Able to travel to other Oshkosh business units to facilitate painting/refinishing training.
  • Assists in the assessment of training requirements across the organization.
  • Consults with line management to identify training needs and find training solutions.
  • Researches and creates proposals.
  • Work collaboratively with both Training and Paint Dept leaders to identify 3rdparty product training.
  • Participates in special corporate and organization development initiatives such as town halls and employee briefings.
  • Assists in the coordination of training events.
  • Participates in industry training groups internal education advisory boards and user groups.
  • Supports documentation standards for all business unit activities and products.
  • Develops and publishes content within the LMS and Training Center intranet site.
  • Develops documentation while working within established templates.
  • Participates in budget preparation and tracking ensures adherence to the department budget.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic experience in automotive refinishing.
  • Previous experience in a training role.
  • Previous experience coaching people.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 10 years experience in automotive refinishing.
  • Previous experience training or teaching.
  • Experience with basic hand tools.
  • Understanding Pierce Truck Builder.
  • Proven curriculum development experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

  • 4year degree in Human Resources or Adult Learning/PostSecondary Education

Pay Range:

$72200.00 $116200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
