Maverc Technologies is seeking a Network Systems Engineer IIto support one of our corporate customers.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will provide Tier II customer service support to Mavercs customers. The candidate will be responsible for providing software support to CISCO routers and switches Dell PCs Sun Servers Juniper routers InLine Encryption (INE) devices network security appliances and other related network hardware.
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN WAN WLAN VPN)
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g. routers switches firewalls load balancers VPN QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs patches hotfixes and security configurations
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization trending and capacity planning
- Provide Level2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools policies and procedures in conjunction with the companys security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problemresolution
- Develop and maintain network documentation including network diagrams configurations and SOPs
Should be able to work with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate experience as a team player is collaborative in personal style and has a history of working well with others. Openness and honesty characterize the ideal incumbent having unquestioned integrity selfresponsibility and personal initiative.
Other Essential Functions:
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract.
- Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
- Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork fosters cooperation and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a highpressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government military and contractor personnel at all levels.
- Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Grooming and dress usually business casual but dependent on clients standards
- Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
- The position for which you are applying for requires a US government security clearance.
Travel & Attendance
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
- It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
- You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war contingency or exercise
- You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work
- Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditions
- Travel.
- Continental and Oversees travel may be required. It is important to maintain a current passport.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Active Top Secret
- US Citizenship
- 5 years of experience configuring operating and troubleshooting networks.
Must possess at minimum a TS/SCI Clearance. It is preferred that the candidate possess a TS/SCI with a CI Poly security clearance. Personnel must be U.S. citizens and capable of obtaining and maintaining a final TS/SCI security clearance.

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent in ITrelated field and/or combination of experience and education.
Baseline certification:IAT2: GSEC or Security CE or SSCP or CCNA Security
OS Cert: CCNA or CCENT
