About the Estimating Project Assistant CoOp
The Estimating Group is responsible for servicing the estimating needs of the HVAC Plumbing Fire Protection and Service groups. The team prepares cost proposals and negotiates work in collaboration with the operations groups to ensure workflow and profitability. Winning key projects and properly transitioning them to the operations teams for the preconstruction process is critical to ensuring a projects success.
A coop in the Estimating Group would assist with project cost assessments support estimate development and collaborate with teams on bid submissions. They would help analyze project requirements and gain exposure to the estimating process while learning from experienced team members.
In this role you will:
- Assist with the review of project documents to understand scope and identify discrepancies
- Assist with soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Assist with Data Entry (Equipment Project progress)
- Assist with completing labor and material takeoffs
- Assist with basic scheduling and preparing proposals
- Collaborate to build accurate estimates
- Collaborate in small groups or as a part of a larger project team
- Walk active job sites to build progress reports
A successful candidate will have:
- Experience or working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Strong communication skills as ability to collaborate with others is essential
- Detailedoriented and organized with effective time management skills
- Ability to ask the necessary questions to gain full understanding of concepts/tasks
- Ability to read detailed plans and blueprints and work with business related metrics
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
