Job Description

Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance D (Mechanical)

Job Number: 21012

Job Location: Waco TX

Schedule: 4/10

Description:

The successful candidate will possess strong experience in aircraft maintenance and any aircraft structures assembly. Relevant experience includes Flight Control Removal or Installs Engine Removal and/or Installs Aircraft Inspections any removal and installs of heavy structure parts and components performing drill up and fastener installation all in accordance with drawings tech manuals or other written instructions. Additionally candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn ability to comply with written policies procedures and other instructions and ability to achieve and maintain a security clearance through the US Government.

You will demonstrate success by:

  • A thorough understanding of aircraft drawings and maintenance manuals
  • In depth knowledge of tools required to perform this job function
  • Great familiarity with general industry standards on quality expectations and ability to proficiently selfinspect completed work
  • In depth knowledge of sheetmetal principals and techniques
  • Ability and willingness to train and mentor lower level technicians
  • General knowledge of military aircraft FOD and Tool Control requirements
  • P8 or P3 Periodic Scheduled Maintenance or Depot Level Maintenance or modification experience a plus

Essential Functions:

  • Working from drawings blueprints sketches written procedures planned work orders technical work orders work cards and/or any other authorized reference material as required to complete assigned work.
  • Performing mechanical and structural installs aircraft inspections or repairs Sometimes in confined spaces.
  • Use of company computer systems for work documentation and retrieval of production related documents.
  • Abilityto be certified to operate selfpropelled vehicles such as forklifts scissor lifts and boom lifts and aircraft tow vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical skills and have the ability to assemble close tolerance part using hand tools such as pneumatic drills and rivet guns.Ability to move up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness and abilityto work overtime any shift and weekends as required to meet company objectives.
  • Ability to pass preemployment background drug & medical screening; subject to FAA requirements and random substance abuse screening.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postSecondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.May substitute experience with completion of Airframe and Powerplant (A&P)schooling
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to pass FAA Class III flight line physical
  • Must have requisite basic tools prior to starting to work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved L3Harris will provide the material to complete this task once hired.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • P8 or P3 Periodic Scheduled Maintenance or Depot Level Maintenance or modification experience a plus
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
