You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailA research assistant is available in the addiction lab Department of Pathology and Anatomy. The Research Assistant will perform both lab managerial tasks as well as basic scientific research in the field of neuroscience. Research will focus on the mechanisms responsible microglial activation induced by abused drug and HIV proteins using in vitro assays and mouse models. Studies may involve mouse brain surgery.
Bachelors degree in a Biological Science or related field (biochemistry neuroscience) from a fouryear college or university. Master degree is preferred.
Experience preferred in working with mice and performing basic molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid isolation PCR western blotting cell culture. Some proficiency with computers is desired. Ability to work well in a team keep detailed record keeping and solve basic mathematical equations is required.
