Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Psychiatrist to be part of our Behavioral Health team in Waynesville NC

What Youll Do:
The Psychiatrist is responsible for evaluating diagnosing and treating patients with behavioral health and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include:
- Position is to provide adult psychiatric services in the outpatient clinic
- Analyze and evaluate patient data and tests or examination findings to diagnose nature and extent of behavioral health disorder.
- Prescribe direct and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat behavioral health emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patient to provide information on general physical condition and behavioral health disorder.
- Advise and inform guardians relatives and significant others of patients conditions and treatment.
- Design individualized care plans using a variety of treatments.
- Collaborate with other behavioral health professionals to discuss individual patient treatment plans and progress.
- Maintain patient information and records including social and medical history obtained from patients relatives and other professionals.
- Counsel outpatient appointments during office visits.
- Responsible for understanding and following the BRCHS Performance Improvement Plan and established safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and participating in all aspects of the BRCHS Corporate Compliance Program.
- Builds a positive work environment by working cooperatively within department and with other areas through teamwork interpersonal skills and personal improvement/initiative.
What Were Looking For:
- Medical degree from an accredited University.
- Board certification in psychiatry.
- Five years of clinical practice experience.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
