Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A
Principal Cloud Virtualization Engineer will directly contribute to building and managing scalable robust and efficient virtualized environments. This role involves architecting deploying and optimizing private cloud infrastructures utilizing VMware and Wind River technologies. The position emphasizes virtualization technologies as the backbone of our 5G network leveraging tools like Kubernetes Ansible Terraform GitLab Jenkins and more to ensure reliability and automation across the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design deploy and manage scalable faulttolerant virtual environments using VMware OpenStack and Wind River. Implement zerotouch provisioning and automated recovery with Ansible Terraform and Jenkins. Ensure seamless integration with Kubernetes and cloudnative services while mentoring junior engineers. Monitor performance optimize resources and implement automated incident responses. Establish backup recovery and failover mechanisms to ensure data integrity and uptime. Define best practices maintain virtualization frameworks and produce detailed documentation.
Education and Experience: Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical degree; ten years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 10 or more years of professional experience in virtualization technologies including VMware services and tools OpenStack and BareMetal Kubernetes. 10 or more years of programming experience in one or more of the following: Java C Perl Python Ruby or advanced Shell scripting.
Skills And Qualifications:
Demonstrable expertise in baremetal and virtualized deployments of VMware Wind River OpenStack and/or OpenShift infrastructures. Handson experience in managing virtual environments across multiple remote locations and data centers. Advanced knowledge of cluster management resource allocation and virtual networking within highly dynamic infrastructures.
Preferred Additional Experience: Advanced experience with VMware on Cloud (VMC) on AWS and hybrid cloud virtualization strategies. Deep understanding of Kubernetes and its integration with virtualized platforms for containerized workloads. Proficiency in Wind River OpenStack and Kubernetes for telecomgrade virtualization and orchestration. Expertise in producing maintaining and versioning detailed virtualization and system documentation. Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and softwaredefined networking (SDN) within virtualized ecosystems.
