Assistant or Associate Professor - Department of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy in the UW School of Pharmacy invites applications for a fulltime 100 FTE 12month service period tenureeligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will specialize in one of the following priority areas: cell and gene therapy precision medicine rare and ultra rare diseases pediatrics cardiology obstetrics or pain management.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Support the Department and Schools commitment to diversity equity and inclusion as well as contribute to the larger service mission of the School of Pharmacy and the UW.

Actively contribute to instruction in the PharmD curriculum which focuses on preparing pharmacist providers who are practiceready in Washington States innovative and permissive pharmacy practice environment.

Support the training mission facilitated by a new Health Sciences Education Building a stateoftheart interprofessional space for training future health professionals.

Develop and/or maintain an externally funded independent research/scholarship program at a toptier R1 research university resulting in peerreviewed publications and other scientific communications

The individual in this position will join a diverse department 50 faculty with over 400 adjunct affiliate and clinical faculty) with nationally and internationally recognized clinical policy and research experts. The School of Pharmacy ranks #3 in the U.S. for total research funding per faculty member. Our faculty received 67 grants and awards in 2021 totaling more than $24 million. The base salary range for this position at the rank of Assistant Professor will be $9450 $14000 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The base salary range for this position at the rank of Associate Professor will be $11500 $16780 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other compensation associated with this position may include a moving allowance.

The candidate should have a PharmD or PhD (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution in a relevant field.

Understanding of and instructional ability in one of the department priority areas noted above. This understanding and instructional ability may be gained through residency fellowship other postgraduate training or equivalent research experience or demonstrated by sustained research productivity and publication record or teaching in PharmD or graduate courses.
