Job Summary
Schedules work supervises requisitions material monitors work requests prepares estimates and performs preventive maintenance responsibilities for the universitys life safety electrical systems. Directs inspects and coordinates electrical systems maintenance tasks performed by university and contracted crews. Responsibilities will be focused on life safety systems.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of commercial industrial and residential fire alarm systems elevators VFDs automatic doors and line voltage electrical systems firerated assemblies; demonstrated ability to supervise employees; ability to organize and prioritize assignments; ability to communicate both orally and in writing; ability to supervise contract crews in the completion of work; skilled electrician in line voltage and controls circuitry; knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems equipment related to life safety systems. Ability to operate and work from aerial lifts. Ability to recognize and correct unsafe work conditions ability to use computer technology and operating systems to program computerized mechanical/electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot DC circuitry and read schematic drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference given to applicants who have been issued an Electrical Tradesman license from Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Experience in supervision maintenance contractual services computer programming skills and construction. Experience with steam heating systems RPZs fire suppression systems electrical motors BAS pumping systems automatic doors backup generators transfer switches and low voltage control circuitry. NICET Certification levels 1 2 or 3.
