Job Title: Wood Shop Specialist
Reports to: Refrigeration Production Supervisor

MondayThursday with some Fridays possible.
Summary:
The Wood Shop Specialist is responsible for accurately effectively and safely operating wood cutting and forming machines or tools. This role requires attention to detail strong work ethic and adherence to safety standards while ensuring that production and quality goals are consistently met.
Examples of Duties:
- Meet all production and quality standards as established by the Supervisor/Team Lead.
- Detect and report material defects and sizing issues in lumber.
- Maintain and properly oil all machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and floor plans.
- Train new personnel as required.
- Verify all received parts against the Bill of Material (B.O.M. and manufacturing order.
- Select the correct material to be ripped milled or notched according to floor plans shop drawings or B.O.M.
- Check each item off the B.O.M. as it is cut.
- Organize the finished product on carts to ensure efficient flow to the next workstation.
- Mark each piece of wood with the size and job number.
- Assemble frames on nailing tables according to blueprints for walkin manufacturing.
- Use small hand tools and power tools as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and safety regulations.
- May be required to work in other areas depending on production needs.
- Accurately read a tape measure and square to ensure precision.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the work area.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of basic math including fractions.
- Skilled in manipulating and interpreting a tape measure.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans blueprints and assembly instructions.
- Skilled in using small hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow work instructions company policies and safety guidelines.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and the capacity to evaluate situations and resolve issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in a professional manner.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Capable of grasping and manipulating small parts and hand tools.
- Proactive in planning and anticipating potential production issues.
Education & Essential Qualifications:
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection hearing protection halfface and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators protective clothing and fall restraint harnesses.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week with availability for overtime as needed.
- Willingness to participate in training for various duties.
- Ability to consistently see hear and interpret written and verbal information.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in wood shop operations is highly desirable.
- Strong attendance record and positive work history.
