Job Description
A diverse Mixed Comprehensive School in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated Sociology Teacher to join our Humanities department. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to critically examine society and social issues.
About Our Learning Community:
Our school values social awareness and encourages students to develop their analytical and critical thinking skills.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons to Key Stages 4 and 5 including GCSE and ALevel.
- Develop and implement lesson plans covering sociological theories research methods and contemporary social issues.
- Facilitate studentled discussions debates and research projects.
- Assess student progress through written assignments presentations and examinations.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the sociology curriculum.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Sociology or a related field.
- Extensive experience teaching sociology at the secondary level.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills.
- A passion for fostering sociological understanding and critical thinking.
