You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in the operating room assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of patient care which support and complement nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. At a minimum the PCA carries out designated skills that are within those functions of a certified nursing assistant as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The PCA communicates data reflective of the patients status and delegated tasks and/or functions. The incumbent works flexible hours which may include days evenings nights holidays and weekends.
Operating Room PCA General Duties:
Organizes and cleans central work areas patient rooms and patient equipment.
Assists in operating room turnover including cleaning and removing trash.
Inventory management of department supplies as delegated by RN or surgical team.
Retrieval of Blood products from the Blood bank as delegated by the RN.
Retrieval of specimens and transporting to appropriate laboratory area as delegated by the RN.
Retrieval of patient beds and equipment from the designated areas as delegated by the RN.
Demonstrates flexibility to best meet department needs including floating when necessary.
