Our site in Burnet TX is seeking a Scientist II Analytical Chemistry to join our team. Help analyze and characterize the materials that help design deliver and optimize some of the most critical semiconductor devices in the world. We are seeking a Scientist II with indepth knowledge of analytical chemistry and techniques that can troubleshoot develop and optimize analytical methods for routine and nonroutine QC analysis to support the Manufacturing and Engineering Teams.Due to the complex nature of sample matrices this opportunity allows the right person to expand upon their technical skill set and participate on a dynamic team in a growing organization.
What Youll Do:
Prepare and conduct chemical and/or physical analyses as defined by existing work instructions on routine and nonroutine samples using analytical instruments including: ICPMS ICPOES GC GC/MS HPLC IC XRF UVVis NIR KF etc. (First Shift: generally 8 am 5 pm Monday through Friday limited weekend and/or holiday coverage may be based on business needs)
Document process transfer and review analytical data to ensure completion conformity traceability and validity and support production and other internal/external customer needs; take corrective action when necessary
Maintain instrumentation tools chemicals and consumables for product testing purposes
Effectively troubleshoot instruments and resolve any hardware or software issues
Verify the efficacy of samples and ensure that all samples and chemicals are properly stored or disposed
Lead projects and efforts to foster continuous improvement of new or existing testing methods and practices
Assist to ensure proper Laboratory cleanliness to support high quality tracelevel data
Compile and present data and presentations to communicate data and other relevant information for continuous improvement method development/validation and other projects
Work on crossfunctional teams as the analytical subject matter expert
Train other personnel to analyze samples or perform other laboratory tasks
Follow and improve safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly environment 5S Guidelines)
What We Seek:
Bachelors degree in Analytical Chemistry or relevant area of study
35 years of experience in operating troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation (LC LCMS IC ICMS GC GCMS ICPMS ICPOES)
Safety First attitude which is practiced with integrity and a high degree of accountability. Knowledge and demonstration of proper safe handling disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Advanced computer knowledge including MS Office
Proven record of completing lab work safely correctly efficiently timely and independently
Availability to expand upon personal job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities special project teams and reading technical publications
Ability to multitask and balance independent and teamwork time effectively
Dedication to meticulous attention to detail and organization
Strong dexterity good eyehand coordination and ability to safely perform routine repetitive motions
Advanced mechanical inclination and experience operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
Masters degree in chemistry physics or other related science
Materials Science or Semiconductor Industry Experience
LIMS JMP MassHunter LabX Open LAB application experience
Analytical chemistry experience working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment or highvolume contract laboratory
Experience with Quality Control requirement; traceability SPC ISO 9001 and 17025 certification and audit requirements.
Sixsigma FMEA 8D training
Proven strong interpersonal skills collaboration and teamwork
Proven record of achieving high performance and dedication to excellence
Commitment to Continuous improvement and innovation
