Work with intellectually disabled adults at the Santa Fe College Northwest Campus in our grant funded program Project SAINT: Student Access and Inclusion Together.
Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties
- Duties vary but may include any or all of these:
- Attending (auditing) 1 or more classes alongside a student
- Tutoring the student before or after class
- Assisting with assignments
- Accompanying student to oncampus activities or events
- Working with the student on communitybased activities.
Reports to: Instructional Specialist Adults with Disabilities
Qualifications
Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student in good academic and behavioral standing taking six 6 or more credit hours. Seeking only very motivated highly responsible and extremely capable applicants for this great opportunity. One to two interviews and three references will be required.
Other Requirements:A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Experience as a teacher/tutor or with persons with disabilities is very helpful.
General Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
- Customer Service ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
- Ethics able to demonstrate integrity professionalism civility and a high degree of ethics in all jobrelated actions
