Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Required to translate technical systems specifications into working tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming specifications writing and/or generating code compiling datadriven programs maintaining and conducting unit tests.
- Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages including technical assistance in implementation conversion and migrations.
General Skills:
- Experience in programming and analysis; specialized software package support at the specified experience level
- Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience in structured methodologies for the development design implementation and maintenance of applications
- Experience in design code test debug and document applications
- Experience in the use of object and/or third generation language development tools
- Experience in one or more programming languages
- Experience in application design latest design patters deployment and troubleshooting
- Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
- Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using query languages
- Experience with one or more communications protocols
- Experience in structured methodologies for the design development implementation and maintenance of applications
- Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Full Stack Skills
- Proficient with both front end and back end development including any associated areas such as database design/management and DevOps
- Knowledge and experience with design and implementation of the overall web architecture
- Experience with implementation of approved user interface design and deployment of database
- Knowledge and experience ensuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability
- Knowledge and experience with the design and construction of REST API services
- Knowledge and experience integrating frontend UI with the constructed API
- Knowledge and experience in design and implementation of continuous integration and deployment
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with programming Internetready applications
- Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices
- Experience with middleware and gateways
- Experience reviewing analyzing and modifying product installation scripts including encoding testing debugging
- Ability to provide postimplementation support and resolve any postimplementation technical issues
- Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
- Ability to provide user and system documentation as required
Requirements
Must have skills:
- 5 years experience with Drupal and Symfony
- 3 years experience with JavaScript frameworks and Elasticsearch
- Experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary agile team
Digital & Product knowledge
- Strong knowledge of software standards and best practices in delivery of complex usercentric IT solutions.
Development experience
- 5 years of handson experience in a professional programming position implementing largescale solutions with Drupal Symphony
- 3 years experience with Javascript frameworks and Elasticsearch
- Proficient in developing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Build our CI/CD and best practices
- Demonstrated experience with various relational and nonrelational data stores e.g. PostgreSQL Redis
- Demonstrated experience with Cloud delivery / deployment models and working with DevOps
Framework & testing experience
- Testing endtoend crossbrowser device and accessibility testing (e.g. WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards) including running automated test scripts
Design and Architecture
- Strong understanding of modern architectural principles for cloudbased solutions
- Proven experience designing modern architectural patterns to support delivery of complex IT solutions that are reliable secure responsive and scalable
Leadership & methodologies
- Experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable participating in design sprints and bringing your product and technical ideas to the wider team
- 5 years experience with Drupal and Symfony
