Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Mechanical Inspector with at least 10 years of handson experience in the construction industry specializing in both infrastructure and building projects. The successful candidate will ensure that mechanical systems installations and materials meet quality standards and comply with local regulations and project specifications.

This role involves frequent inspections of mechanical systems throughout the construction phases identifying and mitigating potential issues and working closely with the project management team to ensure quality is maintained across all mechanical aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC plumbing fire protection elevators and other related systems) to ensure compliance with specifications codes and standards.
  • Review mechanical drawings specifications and project documents to ensure understanding and accurate interpretation.
  • Perform onsite quality control of mechanical installations for both building and infrastructure projects including inspections of materials and workmanship.
  • Identify and document defects or discrepancies in mechanical systems and coordinate corrective actions with the contractors and construction teams.
  • Ensure that mechanical works are completed in compliance with project schedules budgets and safety standards.
  • Verify the proper functioning and commissioning of mechanical systems and installations prior to project handover.
  • Provide detailed reports on inspection findings nonconformance issues and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers engineers and contractors to resolve technical issues and provide guidance on mechanical system solutions.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to health safety and environmental regulations on mechanical work sites.
  • Manage and maintain all documentation related to inspections tests and quality assurance processes for mechanical systems.
  • Ensure that all mechanical components meet or exceed required industry standards and codes including ASHRAE ASME NFPA and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct field inspections and tests on materials equipment and installations to verify compliance with project standards and specifications.

Qualifications :

Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Construction                                                           Management or related field (or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical inspection for infrastructure and building construction projects.
  • Extensive experience working with mechanical systems in both building construction and infrastructure projects (e.g. highways bridges tunnels utilities etc..
  • Proven track record in inspecting mechanical systems such as HVAC plumbing fire protection and elevators.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulatory requirements (e.g. ASHRAE NFPA ASME etc..
  • Strong understanding of construction processes quality assurance protocols and safety regulations.

Certifications:

  • Certification in construction quality management or equivalent is highly preferred (e.g. ICC ACI ASQ).
  • Professional membership or certifications such as Certified Construction Inspector (CCI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems materials and construction techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting documentation and coordination.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools software and related technologies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
