Cloud Security Architect FedRAMP

Location: Remote (U.S. Only)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect FedRAMP to join our clients Information Security team. This role is essential in designing secure cloud architectures that meet stringent FedRAMP and DoD Impact Level 5 standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with multicloud security frameworks encryption networking and defenseindepth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Security Architecture: Design and implement secure cloud architectures that meet FedRAMP and Federal security requirements across SaaS application management customer data and security control planes.
  • Compliance & Control Implementation: Collaborate with compliance teams to define engineering standards implement controls and ensure audit readiness.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as a FedRAMP technical authority by defining authorization boundaries and ensuring security best practices.
  • Cloud Platform Guidance: Recommend secure configurations for cloud services like AWS GovCloud Azure Government and others.
  • CrossFunctional Collaboration: Educate engineering IT and development teams on security best practices encryption requirements and FedRAMP policies.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation including Authorization Boundary diagrams Network and Data Flow diagrams and System Security Plans (SSPs).
  • Incident Support: Assist incident response teams by analyzing vulnerabilities controls and risks within the FedRAMP boundary.
  • Tooling & Automation: Guide security tool selection implement container scanning solutions and recommend Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in technical architecture cloud technologies and application development.
  • 8 years of experience in cloud security with expertise across AWS GCP and/or Azure infrastructure design.
  • 2 years of experience in VMWare and/or Network Security Modeling.
  • Subject matter expertise in CI/CD Cloud APIs and Identity Management.
  • Strong understanding of compute network and storage technologies in AWS GCP and/or Azure.
  • Proficiency in Python Go or Java for security automation and tooling.
  • Extensive experience deploying and securing SaaS applications and cloud environments at scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines containerization (e.g. Kubernetes Docker) and MicroServices.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and their implementation.
  • Knowledge of cloud security maturity models and frameworks.

Additional Requirements:

Due to the nature of this role candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • U.S. Citizenship at the time of hire.
  • Reside within the contiguous United States.
  • Willingness to undergo a Single Source Background Investigation if required.

Security & Privacy Responsibilities:

  • Follow systemspecific security policies and procedures.
  • Protect data and individual privacy per federal regulations.
  • Support vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Assist with incident investigations when necessary.
