Job Description
About the Role
In this vital leadership role you will lead a team of controls technicians to maintain troubleshoot and modify material handling controls systems equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.What You’ll Do
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Fix and modify software programs for material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers Allen Bradley Controllogix/ Compactlogix PLC platform and RSLogix 5000 software package.
- Monitor Industrial networks such as Ethernet ControlNet DeviceNet Profibus ASI motor control systems servo drives frequency drives and electrical distribution systems.
- Act as firstlevel support for the Control Systems Technician team.
- Monitor material handling equipment metrics and partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
- Perform controls systems assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability.
- Partner with Facility Operations leadership equipment vendors and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations; acting as the technical consultant for capital projects inside the facility.
- Clearly communicate technical issues project timelines and product impacts with site leadership operations and the maintenance teams.
- Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and the Operations Maintenance team members.
- Perform other jobrelated duties as needed or assigned.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelors Degree with a focus in Electronic Technology or equivalent OR 2 years of equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training.
- 2 years of experience with motor controls (motor starts variable frequency drives DC drives and standard electrical components).
- 2 years of experience with programming HMI components.
- 2 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
- 2 years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
- 2 years of experience with SCADA systems.
- Experience interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
- Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping standing walking and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/ programming.
- Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
- Project Management experience with the ability to train others.
- Experience with robotic maintenance.
- Experience with AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC’s and PLC components.
- Experience with SCADA systems and KPI’s.
