Job Description

Job Title: Nurse Manager Obstetrics & Pediatrics

Location: Petoskey MI

Shift Type: Days

Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Salary Range: $48.23 $79.57 per hour (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:

The Nurse Manager for the OB/PEDS unit is responsible for overseeing patient care quality staff management and unit operations. Reporting to the Chief Nurse Executive this position plays a key role in nursing leadership ensuring patient safety staff development and the integration of services across the healthcare continuum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead nursing staff in policy formulation decisionmaking and shared governance.
  • Ensure the quality and appropriateness of patient care while respecting individual rights and preferences.
  • Coordinate nursing care with other healthcare disciplines to improve continuity of care.
  • Oversee staffing scheduling and workload management considering scope of practice patient needs and care complexity.
  • Provide orientation training and performance evaluations for nursing staff offering continuous feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage departmental budgeting financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Promote evidencebased practice through research policy implementation and staff engagement.
  • Encourage open communication and staff collaboration fostering a culture of shared accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong leadership communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations compliance and evidencebased practices.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor nursing colleagues ensuring highquality patient care.
  • Experience managing staffing budgeting and unit operations.
  • Commitment to professional development and patientcentered care.
