GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

This individual is a Research Assistant I (RA I) who will work with a cuttingedge research team in the areas of translational genomics risk communication and health outcomes. The RA I will play an integral role in supporting the G2P research team. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and detail oriented possess excellent writing communication and research skills and be highly proficient in Word Excel and PowerPoint.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Overall:
  • Support the lab by placing orders for office and research supplies.
  • Submit reimbursements for G2P staff members under the supervision of Senior Research Assistants (RA II).
  • Process invoices and purchase orders.
  • Submit weekly G2P timesheets to division administrator.
  • Prepare onboarding paperwork for G2P trainees volunteers new hires and associated personnel.
  • Assist Project Managers by preparing and distributing meeting materials/handouts.
  • Attend project meetings in the capacity of recording secretary taking minutes for review by the Project Managers.
  • Conduct internet and library research and construct wellwritten summaries.
  • Assist Director and project managers with upkeep of endnote library and journal and impact factor tracking.
  • Assist Director and project mangers with manuscript and abstract preparation submission and publication tracking.
  • Assist project managers with study poster design.
  • Assist with scheduling of research conference calls and inperson meetings.
  • Assist project mangers with audiovisual technology at meetings.
  • Assist project managers with maintaining organized and up to date G2P shared folders.
  • Assist RA IIs with projectrelated research responsibilities such as:
  • Coordinating the shipment of research blood samples
  • Compiling informational folders to distribute to research participants
  • Scanning paperwork from research study visits
  • Entering research data into study databases under the supervision of RA II
  • Communicating with physician offices and outside labs to request medical records
  • Making sample collection kits
  • Ensuring that study paperwork is printed and stocked utilizing the existing study organizational system
  • Coordinating with patients and physicians to provide end of study compensation

2. Studyspecific duties and responsibilities

The Impact of Amyloid
  • Assist with recruitment responsibilities including interacting with family members of patients in memory clinics and reviewing research registries clinical trials websites and local Alzheimers Association chapters and talks in the community
  • Assist Project Manager by preparing and distributing meeting materials/handouts.
  • Assist as recording secretary taking minutes for review by the Project Manager.
  • Assist with proofreading developing documents (protocols consent forms etc.
  • Assist with organizational tasks in preparation of inperson startup meetings.
  • Assist with scheduling of research conference calls and inperson meetings.
  • Assist Project Manger with audiovisual technology at meetings.
