Job Description

This is a remote position.

Position: Live Events Producer & Speech Writer

Department: Marketing
Reports to: SVP Marketing and Communications
FLSA Classification: Salaried/Exempt

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Program Manager Live Events will be responsible for curating developing and managing the content speeches and speaker lineups for all live NKBA events. This involves working with the Marketing Operations and Chapters teams on speaker selection themes and schedules. The role requires close communication with industry and subject matter experts to create compelling and impactful content along with detailed runofshow schedules and scripts for NKBA KBIS conferences award ceremonies and special event programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Development:

  • Collaborate with the operations and marketing team to identify key themes topics and trends relevant to the Kitchen and Bath industry.

  • Develop a content strategy that aligns with overall event program and association goals to ensure a diverse and engaging agenda.

  • Research and identify potential speakers panelists and thought leaders who can contribute valuable insights to conferences and events.

  • Draft speeches and talking points for speakers for live events.

  • Build relationships with industry professionals to attract relevant speakers and stay up to date on topics.

Program Development:

  • Develop the conference schedule ensuring a balanced and engaging flow of sessions panels and keynotes.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote conference content and speakers.

  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure all AV and technical needs are met for speaker presentations.

  • Create and write detailed runofshow schedules opening remarks production notes and staff scripts for all sessions.

Speaker Management:

  • Reach out to and secure speakers managing all communications from initial contact through postevent followup.

  • Coordinate speaker logistics including AV requirements equipment travel accommodations and session requirements.

  • Work closely with speakers to develop presentations ensuring content quality and alignment with conference themes.

  • Create detailed speaker briefs including session objectives audience insights and logistical details.

  • Collect all speaker assets including photos bios videos introduction talking points presentation decks session overviews and talking points for NKBA KBIS marketing and public relations.

  • Coordinate advance speaker interviews for marketing and PR as needed.

  • Organize book signings giveaways and additional details related to speaker appearances.

  • Create and send speaker contracts to presenters and/or agents; collect and track signed contracts.

  • Budget for and process contracts and payments for paid speakers and honorariums.

Onsite Management:

  • Provide onsite support to speakers ensuring they are prepared and comfortable before their sessions.

  • Troubleshoot lastminute changes or issues with the conference schedule or speaker lineup.

  • Work with the operations and production team to ensure smooth transitions between sessions and adherence to the conference timeline.

Budget Management:

  • Manage speaker and related conference budget expenses.

PostEvent Evaluation:

  • Gather feedback from attendees and speakers to assess the effectiveness and impact of the content presented.

  • Analyze session attendance and engagement data to identify opportunities for improvement in future NKBA events.

  • Provide a comprehensive report on the content programs success and areas for enhancement.

EDUCATION & SKILLS:

Experience:

  • 35 years of experience in content production event planning script/content writing and/or conference management.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing conference content and speakers.

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Communication is preferred.

  • Experience working with Kitchen and Bath and/or design industry experts and highprofile speakers is a plus.

  • Experience with successful scriptwriting.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong PowerPoint and Keynote skills with experience in designing and delivering presentations and scripts.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.

  • Proficiency in content management systems event management software and basic design tools.

  • Detailoriented with a strong focus on quality and creativity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Works in standard office environments.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g. office products and supplies).

  • Willingness to travel overnight several times per year (approximately 30 travel) and work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to communicate via phone and in person stand walk use hands and fingers reach sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
