To support the Head of Real Assets Direct (RAD) and Senior Managers with managing RESTs portfolio of coinvestments and direct assets in addition to providing support to the Investment team on new opportunities. Part of the role will entail working on projects to improve the way that we manage our investments.
- Contributing to the development and of the Real Assets Direct strategy.
- Ongoing monitoring of the portfolios performance identifying areas of risk and value creation opportunities.
- Provide key technical and commercial negotiation support for transacting new investment opportunities.
- Building out the processes and procedures of Rests Real Asset team to ensure best practice.
- Assisting the Head of Real Assets Direct in implementing key strategic initiatives identified in the Real Assets Direct Strategy.
- Mentoring analysts in the Real Assets team.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Ongoing monitoring of operational performance of our direct assets and / or coinvestments to identify risk mitigation and / or value creation opportunities.
- Participate in the valuation of our direct and coinvestment portfolio working alongside our internal valuations team and liaising with external valuers.
- Working closely with senior team members on the of new transactions.
- Preparation of comprehensive submissions to the Private Markets SubCommittee (and where appropriate the Management Investment Committee) outlining recommendations for addon opportunities divestments key risks etc.
- Actively engaging in the negotiation of key transaction and joint venture documentation.
- Monitor market trends and economic indicators to inform proactive asset management decisions including capital expenditure leasing strategies and potential divestitures or acquisitions.
- Integration of ESG considerations into investment decisions to reflect Rests commitment to sustainability and impact investing.
- Contribution to a positive and collaborative work environment building strong bonds with the investment team and all teams that support and contribute to the success of the investment program and the Rest enterprise.
- Embodiment and promotion of Rests core values instilling a sense of shared purpose and integrity.
Qualifications :
Relevant educational qualifications including but not limited to Business Finance Economics Commerce or law degree and the CFA program
Required experience understanding or credentials including:
- A strong commitment to Rests values with a track record of making investment decisions that are ethically and sustainably sound.
- Minimum of seven years in an infrastructure role at a fund manager / superannuation fund corporate finance advisory firm or investment banking.
- Knowledge of Australian and International infrastructure markets.
- Adapt in investment due diligence with an eye for detail and a focus on identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Expertise in ESG integration with the ability to identify risks and opportunities in real assets ensuring investments are aligned with longterm sustainable goals.
- Negotiation and communication skills with a history of effectively engaging stakeholders and articulately presenting investment ideas considerations and risks.
- Financial management and reporting skills.
- The role may require some travel (domestic and international).
