The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
ACS Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures high quality services are provided to children in foster care by providing partner agency staff with technical assistance and services support. Within FPS the Office of Youth Success Services (OYSS) works crossdivisionally with ACS juvenile justice prevention and child protection teams to achieve positive safety wellbeing and permanency outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system through the provision of education workforce readiness job placement and housing supports. FPS is seeking a highly motivated and detailorientated Project Coordinating Undergraduate Intern to join our Office of College Access and Success team.
As Program Coordinating Graduate Intern you will support our team in dayto day operations and contribute to ongoing projects aimed at improving outcomes for youth in college. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of operations of Office of College Access and Success.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with foster care provider agencies to provide postsecondary planning support by exploring and sharing college access options that agencies can share with their youth
Provide event planning support (workshops trainings college fairs etc.
Assist with developing meaningful agendas and coordinating with community speakers for presentations
Attend events (workshops trainings college fairs etc. hosted by the Office of College Access & Success
Draft letters memos recommendations and other correspondence relating to the College Choice Program
Provide administrative support to the Office of College Access and Success Team as needed
Learning Outcomes:
Gain comprehensive knowledge on developing and executing communications strategies
Develop skills in collaborating across teams towards desired outcomes
Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks and events
Additional Information
