Job Description
We are seeking research scientists and engineers with a strong background in AI/ML and robotics to drive breakthrough innovations in intelligent systems. This role emphasizes the intersection of machine learning and robotics. Unlike traditional AI roles this position requires a handson approach integrating software and hardware solutions to push the boundaries of perception control and intelligence. You will work alongside worldclass researchers and engineers contributing to technologies that power the Apple ecosystem and publishing in toptier scientific venues.

Key Responsibilities:Implement stateoftheart AI/ML models for perception and control Develop and optimize software solutions for AI/MLdriven applications including embedded programming and highperformance computing. Work with various sensor modalities (LiDAR cameras IMUs etc. Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks Fusion 360 or equivalent) for mechanical modeling and design. Operate and maintain 3D printers CNC machines laser cutters and other fabrication equipment. Collaborate with mechanical electrical and software engineers to create functional and aesthetically refined systems. Iterate quickly based on feedback technical constraints and functional requirements. Document research findings methodologies and technical developments for internal knowledge sharing and external publications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Masters or PhD in Computer Science Robotics Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and C with experience in complex multilanguage systems.
- Expertise in ML algorithms and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience with perception control and sensor fusion.
- Handson experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks Fusion 360 and fabrication 3D printing CNC machining etc..
- Strong software engineering skills delivering clean welltested and optimized code.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of PCB design embedded systems and sensor integration
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning planning algorithms or autonomous navigation
- Experience in manufacturing processes
- Background in industrial design principles
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to iterate quickly based on user feedback and technical constraints.

- At Apple base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143100 and $264200 and your base pay will depend on your skills qualifications experience and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apples discretionary employee stock programs.
