Sociology Teacher Surrey Secondary School Understanding Society Empowering Change
An Outstanding secondary school in Surrey seeks a dedicated and insightful Sociology Teacher to join their Humanities/Social Sciences department. This is a fulltime permanent position primarily teaching Key Stages 4 and 5. The school is committed to fostering critical thinking about social issues and empowering students to become active and informed citizens.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons that explore the complexities of social life.
- Cover a range of sociological topics theories and research methods.
- Encourage students to critically analyze social structures inequalities and power dynamics.
- Develop students research communication and argumentation skills.
- Prepare students for success in Sociology examinations (e.g. GCSE ALevel).
- Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum incorporating contemporary social issues and debates.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A degree in Sociology or a closely related field.
- Proven experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level preferably including ALevel.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sociology.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- The desire to teach Sociology
