Job Description
About the Role:
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for managing assigned projects and ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems by collaborating with architects service engineers contractors and team members. The role includes conducting site visits evaluating existing electrical systems and providing technical support throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement electrical systems including panels switchboards elevators transformers and cable trays.
- Work on CCTV systems access control systems public address & general alarm systems LAN and telephone systems.
- Design and implement looping and control systems for automation projects.
- Prepare requirement documents/questionnaires for new projects and schedule meetings with architects clients and chief engineers to gather necessary information for design commencement.
- Develop electrical designs including DBR (Design Basis Report) budgetary cost estimation ELD (Electrical Load Distribution) EPL (Electrical Power Layout) equipment selection MSLD (Main Single Line Diagram) shaft/cut openings internal electrical layouts SLD (Single Line Diagram) BOQ (Bill of Quantities) material list and MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) coordination.
- Communicate and coordinate with other service consultants contractors and site engineers to update drawings manage revisions and ensure proper MEP coordination.
- Conduct periodic site visits to validate the of electrical designs and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Provide properly coordinated MEP drawings to architects resolving conflicts and clashes between architectural elements and MEP systems.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design tools.
Strong knowledge of electrical panels switchboards transformers and ELV systems.
Experience in automation systems and electrical controls.
Ability to estimate costs prepare BOQ and select equipment for electrical projects.
Excellent coordination and communication skills to interact with architects contractors and project teams.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills for design validation and issue resolution.
Ability to conduct site visits and ensure design implementation.
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks. Proficiency in creating 3D models, Piping Isometrics, GA drawings, and Piping Layouts. In-depth knowledge of Piping BOM, MTO, and Piping Material Specifications (PMS). Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis. Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions. Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
