With over a century of mining history Darlot is a cornerstone operation of Vault Minerals Limited producing highgrade gold production. With a strong legacy Darlot is focused on the future optimising production and driving exploration programs to extend the mines lifespan and uncover new resources. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Underground Manager the Alternate Underground Manager will be responsible for safely achieve the mine plan targets set out from threemonth plan budgets and reforecasts with the personnel and equipment available. The Alternate UG Manager will work a backtoback roster with the Mining Manager for Darlot and will hold the statutory appointments of Alternate UG Manager and Alternate Site Senior Executive in the absence of the Mine Manager.
Competencies should range through the areas of project & contract management underground planning and design and the use of Deswik mine design software.
The position will be offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee Production and planning engineers to ensure that plans are designed and issued in accordance with the mine schedule.
- Monitoring of development and stoping excavations in relation to size and position in comparison to planned geology and ground control management.
- Continual Drill and blast optimization & business improvement.
- Systems implementation (safety production and organisational based).
- Assist with annual capital forecasting scope and project delivery.
- Assist with operating budget planning and management.
- Ensure accurate production reconciliations are completed as part of the end of month process summary reports are submitted to relevant stakeholders and any production improvements highlighted in the reports are promptly evaluated and where practicable implemented by the production team.
About You
- WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency & in transition to obtaining WHS First Class Mine Managers Certificate (noncoal).
- Bachelors degree in mining engineering or a related field with at least 2 years experience in mechanized UG Narrow Vein & Open Stope Mining.
- Proficiency in adhering to systems and procedures along with strong communication skills including report writing and presentations.
- Proficient in the use and application of MS Office suite and Deswik CAD/ Sched software and Ventsim (preferable)
- Previous experience training coaching and mentoring junior staff.
- WA Drivers License (manual C Class) & Dangerous Goods Security Card
