HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Technical Designer you will be responsible for ensuring that the product design is in accordance with the fit specifications. You will be responsible for collaborating with the integrated product team (IPT) and manufacturers ensuring highquality products are created tested and produced. You will be the key architect of all technical documents & drawings.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage perform & record all measurements for garments and accessories to ensure they align with product designs
- Responsible for creating and distributing color cards and product technical packs to cross functional teams & vendors
- Hold and execute product fittings in collaboration with vendor partners
- Key stakeholder in identifying & correcting potential fit concerns to ensure all specifications are adjusted accordingly prior to scheduled launches
- Owner of design enhancement as needed
- Partner with Color experts to guarantee lab dips are approved and routed
- Ensure product testing has been performed prior to product release
- During the design process communicate with pattern and sample makers to ensure cut patterns are correct and any required sampling is completed
- Adhere to the Merchandising Development Product & Project Calendar(s)
- IPT Communication of fit session recaps testing results & any delays in calendar(s)
- Develop & maintain a healthy relationship with vendors and manufacturers
- Occasional inspection of final product making sure there are no defects
- Maintain a 24hour turnaround time with comments
- Subject matter expert on product fit construction and fabrics
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- At least 3 years in product merchandising
- Working experience as a Technical Designer or a similar role.
- Phenomenal detailed oriented abilities and excellent problem solving and networking skills
- Must have a strong technical knowledge of pattern making and garment construction.
- Proficiency in design software such as CAD Photoshop Illustrator and other relevant software
- Strong work ethic & decision making
- Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
- Good time management required
- A portfolio of your technical designs is preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree or Direct Experience Equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
- Some positions may require standing desks or the flexibility to alternate between sitting and standing.
- Occasionally lifting light objects typically under 1020 pounds (e.g. office supplies files or laptops).
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing using a computer mouse and handling documents.
- Close vision is required for computer work reading and reviewing documents.
- Adequate visual acuity for screenbased tasks and identifying details.
- Effective verbal and auditory communication for phone calls video conferences and inperson discussions.
- Ability to move around the office including walking short distances to other desks meeting rooms or office equipment.
- Maintaining proper posture while seated to minimize strain or discomfort over long periods.
- Extensive use of computers phones and other office equipment.The environment is typically quiet with occasional ambient noise from office activities.
