The North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT911 is responsible for more than 40 Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) in 13 counties surrounding the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. The Program supports these ECCs through maintaining and upgrading 911 equipment providing uptodate mapping information training for public safety personnel educating the public on the proper use of 911 and monitoring ECC functionality and compliances. NCT911 serves a population of 1.9 million and 10800 square miles.
Job Description:
NCT911is seeking a GISSpecialistII to collect maintain and QA/QC GIS data to coalesce into the Public Safety Enterprise GISenvironment. The position will require a close working relationship with the Regional Addressing Authority in the NCT911district area. This position will support the ongoing expansion and improvement of GIS services within NCT911.
Required Skills:
Strong technical and analytical skills
Advanced knowledge ofEsriGIS Software products
Strong database skills and knowledge of query languages
Good decisionmaking abilities
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
Ability to work well under pressure in timesensitive situations and adapting to shifting priorities
Required Experience:
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledgeis usually acquired through four years of college resulting in aBachelorsdegree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience.
13 years of related work experience is required or experience in the GIS field.
