Midwest Data Center Network Engineer
Job Description
Network Engineer will undertake tasks of TCP/IP network development and maintenance. This position will be responsible for designing and supporting the network in ways that optimize its performance. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with a great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and improving the networks functions.
Responsibilities
- Design and install carrier level computer and transport networks
- Troubleshoot and quickly repair network outages
- Maintain and provide recommendations on WAN/LAN networks
- Configure and test software and hardware for new and existing projects
- Performing network assessments for design and implementation.
- Evaluate network performance and provide recommendations to management on network upgrades
- Assist team members with organization and scheduling of upgrades and maintenance of critical WAN / LAN infrastructure.
- Performing troubleshooting to quickly mitigate network outages and increase network performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the TCP/IP networking field or relevant position
- Outstanding diagnostic problemsolving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of LAN/WAN networks TCP/IP protocols network and wireless technologies
- Handson experience with common networking software and hardware
- SIP / VOIP experience strongly preferred
- ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) experience preferred
- CCENT/CCNA qualifications are preferred
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
