Description

Job Title: Sales Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Structure: Base Pay Commission
Department: Sales
Immediate Supervisor: CEO/President

Position Summary:

The AV Sales Specialist will be responsible for identifying selling and managing audiovisual equipment and installation services. This role requires building strong client relationships understanding specific market needs and providing tailored AV solutions. The Sales Engineer will work closely with internal teams such as Engineering Installation and Marketing to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial inquiry through project completion. The role will also involve sourcing products preparing quotes and ensuring that all sales efforts align with company policies and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new clients.
  • Identify prospects and lead efforts to present quote and close sales for AV equipment and installations.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate sales proposals and quotes responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) when necessary.
  • Manage the entire sales process including contract negotiations order tracking and client communication to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong longlasting relationships with key stakeholders within each sector providing ongoing customer support and ensuring repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Engineering Installation and Accounting to meet customer expectations and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor industry trends competitor activities and technological advancements to adjust sales strategies as needed.
  • Provide product recommendations and solutions that meet client needs while staying within budget constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies procedures and legal requirements during the sales process.
  • Track sales progress report on key metrics and contribute to forecasting and planning activities.

Required Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of the AV industry and market needs specific to corporate education and houses of worship.
  • Proven ability to develop tailored AV solutions that meet customer needs and budget.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and resolve client issues promptly and effectively.
  • Selfmotivated and driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical thinking abilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education/Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in sales with a focus on audiovisual equipment and installation solutions.
  • Prior experience in sales to corporate clients educational institutions and houses of worship is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the latest AV technologies industry standards and installation processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Must be willing to travel as needed to meet with clients and oversee installations
