The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a fulltime tenuretrack faculty position #145010 in Audio Production at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1 2025.
Excellence in teaching research/creative activity and service is expected. The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in sound reinforcement and general topics in audio theory and technology. The successful candidate should also have the ability to teach in studio recording/production or sound for picture/broadcast audio. In addition the successful candidate will conduct research or develop creative products in their areas of specialization.
A terminal degree in recording industry audio production sound recording music production music technology or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
A masters degree in recording industry or a closely related field with four 4 years of fulltime recording industry professional work experience or a bachelors degree in recording industry with six 6 years of fulltime recording industry professional work experience will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree. To receive experience credit for fulltime freelance work applicants must list each project including the projects length on their CVs.
One 1 year of professional experience in sound engineering or audio production is required.
