You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe analyst plays a crucial role in supporting our brokers by evaluating client portfolios structuring reinsurance programs conducting peer comparisons performing portfoliowide analytics and managing various ad hoc financial and analytical tasks. To excel in this position candidates should have prior experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry.
This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
What can you expect
As an analyst you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our model vendor to enhance our analytics tools.
You will be responsible for maintaining data models and databases to support reinsurance analytics and reporting.
Identifying opportunities for process automation and optimisation to improve efficiency and scalability will be part of your role.
Staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in reinsurance and data engineering will be encouraged.
You will collaborate closely with clients to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.
There may be occasional travel required and we value your ability and willingness to do so.
We will count on you to:
Collect and review reinsurance data.
Cleanse and manipulate data to prepare it for our tools. This includes incorporating suitable assumptions for the given portfolio.
Populate our tool test it and review for errors and inconsistencies.
Develop and maintain model documentation parameterisation and default probabilities.
Collaborate with external providers to enhance and update our modelling framework including developing automation where applicable.
Develop a new portfolio solution to enhance our peer review capabilities.
Liaise with analytics and specialists across the division and GC Global Specialties.
Enhance and develop reporting capabilities including the use of Power BI.
Embrace and utilise big data by leveraging internal and external sources of data and systems.
Contribute to enhancing the divisions skills and knowledge in the usage of analytics to empower our advice.
What you need to have:
Bachelors degree in Data Science Statistics Mathematics Computer Science Business Administration Economics or a related field.
An understanding of insurance or reinsurance is essential.
Experience in credit financial and portfolio analytics is essential.
Proficiency in Python and other programming skills.
Familiarity with SQL for database querying and manipulation.
Understanding of credit surety and political risk from underwriting or broking.
A high level of Excel knowledge.
An innovative and creative mindset.
Strong problemsolving skills.
A clientfocused approach both internally and externally.
Effective communication skills.

Alteryx Designer Advanced certification.
Familiarity with reinsurance concepts terminology and industryspecific data requirements.
Experience in credit financial and portfolio analytics.
Understanding the unique challenges and complexities of reinsurance data.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with crossfunctional teams including data scientists and actuaries.
The ability to translate technical concepts into understandable terms for nontechnical stakeholders is highly valuable.
