Job Summary: The Banquet and Events Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet operations. This includes active participation in the planning stages event set up/tear down organizing and executing the day of private events banquets business social meetings and member related activities.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Education/Experience: The ideal candidate for this position should have proven experience as a Banquet Captain Banquet Operations Event Planning or similar role in a highend restaurant hotel or private club setting. Strong knowledge of banquet operations including event planning food and beverage service and staff management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients staff and vendors. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple events simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during events. Proficiency in computer software including MS Office and banquet management systems. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry. Bachelors degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred. Availability to work evenings weekends and holidays as required by event schedules.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English is required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or coworkers the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworkers. Maintain effective communication between all staff members regarding course operations and human resource issues Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests or members. Must display professional demeanor and always communicate in professional language.
Certificates/Licenses/Safety Training: State accredited Alcohol Training Certification is required within 30 days of employment. California Manager Food Handlers Card required upon hire.
