Job Description

About The Team
The Queens Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) aims to introduce undergraduate students to biomedical engineering explore practical applications of the engineering curriculum and promote interdisciplinary collaboration to solve common problems within the field of medicine. QBiT strives to develop projects spanning multiple areas of biomedical technology. Our projects aim to utilize cuttingedge mechanical electrical and biochemical systems to design and manufacture physical solutions. The team is comprised of 6080 undergraduate students spanning all years and faculties of study at Queens University in Kingston Ontario Canada. The team is supported by a handful of professors and graduate student advisors.

Role Overview

The two cocaptains lead QBiTs projects assembling and overseeing a team of students to drive them to successful completion. They manage the team serve as QBiTs representatives within the Engineering Society and AMS and handle both the administrative and technical aspects of running a design team. Additionally they secure sponsorships and ensure responsible financial management to support the teams growth and success.

Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks and supervise members of project teams
  • Keep track and manage all ongoing tasks for the technical projects and subteams
  • Takes initiative outside of regular meeting times to further research and design
  • Utilize available resources to overcome barriers

Requirements

  • Demonstrate commitment to QBiT as a whole
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent teamwork when collaborating with fellow members
  • Ability to take initiative and act without instruction
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
