Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design steel cold box structures pipe racks and all other structural elements of process plants
- Produce plan section and elevation drawings of structures with sufficient detail needed for vendor bid packages and for vendors to produce fabrication drawings
- Perform lateral and gravity analysis on structures to validate designs
- Develop shipping and lifting requirements for equipment from 5 to 500 metric tons
- Make technical recommendations and review vendor drawings and specificationsand shop drawings
- Follow established AISCASCE IBC and ACI standardsstandards
- Participate in departmental training programs/seminars and online training
- Ensure projects comply to schedule and budgetary requirements
- Work efficiently as part of a team with leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resolve technical project issues reviewing and making quality recommendations
- The ideal candidate should be a selfstarter with solid planning and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering or related
- Proficiency in 3D (CADWorx a plus) to move drawing to other disciplines Piping Equipment ect) and AutoCAD
- Experience with cryogenic piping cold boxes and the Industrial Gases Industry is a plus
- Experience with Robot Tekla and/or other industry standard structural design software
- Experience with Hilti design software and RAM Connection software
- Understanding of pipe stress and pipe supports
- Basic computer literacy Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel).
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to function in a team environment across multiple disciplines
- PE license a plus
