About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 35 following exam specifications and incorporating diverse literary texts and critical approaches.
- Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking analytical skills and communication proficiency utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources including creative writing drama and digital media.
- Assess student progress through essays presentations and written work providing detailed feedback to support their development.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum integrating current literary trends and critical perspectives and participate in departmental planning.
- Organize and lead creative writing workshops book clubs and literary events promoting student engagement and a love of reading.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong English subject knowledge including literature language and creative writing.
- Demonstrated experience teaching English to ALevel with a focus on both literary analysis and communication skills.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering a love of literature and language.
