Job Description

Join a vibrant multicultural Secondary School in Hounslow as an English Teacher from September 2025. This is an opportunity to inspire a love of literature and language among a diverse student body across Key Stages 35 fostering critical thinking and communication skills within a supportive learning environment.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 35 following exam specifications and incorporating diverse literary texts and critical approaches.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking analytical skills and communication proficiency utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources including creative writing drama and digital media.
  • Assess student progress through essays presentations and written work providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum integrating current literary trends and critical perspectives and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead creative writing workshops book clubs and literary events promoting student engagement and a love of reading.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong English subject knowledge including literature language and creative writing.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching English to ALevel with a focus on both literary analysis and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of literature and language.
