Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The primary purpose of the RNFA position is to assist the surgeon and team in operative procedures. The role also performs preoperative procedures such as selection and placement of appropriate surgical instruments supplies and equipment; to scrub and provide instruments sutures and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.
Reports to: Clinical Nurse Manager/Director
FLSA: Nonexempt
Minimum Qualifications:
x High school diploma or equivalent Required
x Associates degree Required
x Graduate of a Program in Discipline (First Assist) Required
Bachelors degree Preferred Required
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required on hire.
National First Assist Certification preferred
Licenses: Arizona State RN licensure or compact RN license required on hire
