Youll be a part of the Facility Infrastructure Delivery team responsible for the delivery of renovation rehabilitation renewal relocation and new construction for civic buildings and facilities. This includes buildings such as fire stations recreation facilities transit garages City of Edmonton attractions police facilities libraries river valley facilities waste facilities and various other cityowned facilities.

What will you do
- Manage the delivery of infrastructure projects including operational/strategic initiatives resource and financial management
- Review and prepare feasibility studies master plans functional programs and designreports drawings and specifications as well as operation and maintenance reports and manuals
- Define the project goals objectives and planned deliverables to fulfill therequirements of the Strategy and Operate Business Partners and Project Sponsors
- Manage monitor and report on progress and project health through detailed reporting and schedules ensuring the project is on budget on schedule and within the defined scope and quality
- Develop and build lasting relationships that support the success of the projects with stakeholders business partners and industry experts.
- Develop and implement robust public/stakeholder engagement processes and activities working in collaboration with Communications & Engagement (C&E)
- Develop and implement communications plans in collaboration with C&E
- Respond and/or manage response to all project inquiries following the IIS process
- Chair and/or participate in liaison and steering committee meetings site meetings and other projectrelated meetings
- Document all project activities in accordance with the Project Management methodology City policies processes and procedures as well as regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Manage the procurement and contract processes including tender documents review of proposals/bids and make recommendations for acceptance
- Perform all other related duties
- A Degree in a related field such as Engineering Architecture Landscape Architecture Business or Project Management and a minimum of six 6 years of directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning design construction or an area of specialization. OR;
- A Diploma in a related field such as Engineering Construction Architecture Landscape Architecture Project Management or Trade Certification and a minimum of eight 8 years of directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning design construction or an area of specialization.
Skills required for success:
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes related to architectural civil structural mechanical electrical and/or landscaping disciplines
- Working knowledge of relevant codes legislation regulations policies and procedures (OH&S Environmental Builders Lien Act etc.
- Strong project management skills including an understanding of project management methods and techniques (PMBOK best practices)
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of projects
- Proven planning organizational and problemsolving skills
- Experience overseeing public engagement processes
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience in solving complex and sensitive issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including facilitation report writing and presenting
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative integrated manner
- Experience managing and working with external consultants and contractors
- Ability and willingness to delegate and empower others
- Demonstrated alignment with our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies

Assets:
- Experience leading the construction and project management of facility/building projects
- Registered with or eligible to be registered as a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute
- Coursework/training in project management contract management financial management or leadership training
Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or provincial equivalent) and/or method of transportation to get to project sites. Applicants may be required to obtain business use auto insurance for personal vehicle use on City business
- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position. There may be a cost associated with this requirement
Work Environment:
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
