Job Description

Job Title: Internship Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Internship Program Coordinators main responsibility is implementing Sealaskas internship program which serves dozens of postsecondary students each year. This includes fullcycle program development and management building strong relationships with internal business and services departments and external partners to foster and identify internship opportunities developing intern job descriptions recruiting candidate screening selection hiring onboarding event planning and offboarding. Related administrative aspects including coordinating travel for participants and coordinating/executing events related to the intern program also fall into the scope of this role.

The Internship Program Coordinator is an effective networker who provides efficient attentive service to shareholders and business partners. The role is responsible for instigating and maintaining effective relationships with hiring managers and other internal stakeholders across teams and industries to facilitate current internship opportunities while developing continued growth and evolution of internship opportunities for future.

Leveraging a passion for learning and development the Internship Program Coordinator seeks opportunities to provide relevant and practical training/development to interns and intern managers while ensuring that the administrative aspects of the program are delivered efficiently timely and accurately for interns intern managers and internal administrative teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Primary contact for fullcycle delivery of Sealaskas internship program including internal and external partner opportunities
o Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers create job descriptions and assist with workplans
o Coordinate with Human Resources and Information Technology teams to ensure interns and intern managers are prepared with documentation training and equipment on day one!
o Coordinate with university recruiting and sourcing interns during recruitment seasons
o Facilitate and oversee applicant screening and selection process
o Coordinate training for interns and intern managers
o Partner with leadership managers and Human Resources in internrelated coaching disciplinary matters and termination as required
Coordinate and administer intern program experiences including earlyincareer employee training Alaska Native cultural connection professional development mentorship and peertopeer connection; partner with internal and external groups/stakeholders as appropriate
Maintain relationships with key student success partners to attract a wide and diverse applicant pool including but not limited to Sealaska Heritage Institute American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) and Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP)
Serve as point person for growing additional internshiplike opportunities for Shareholders including the inception design and implementation of new earlyincareer programs for Sealaska shareholders (e.g. apprenticeship opportunities fellowship opportunities etc)
Participates in annual budgeting process; employs a mindset of financial responsibility in building and executing programs and associated events
Provides timely and accurate accounting of program costs including reconciliation and proactive fiscal management
Performs other duties as assigned.

Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in taking the lead when opportunities arise
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or postsecondary education experience preferred Business/Human Resources Communications Education
Experience in designing and building programs preferably in the earlyincareer or education space
Preferred:
Experience in coaching or training students preferred

Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform computerbased tasks and processing for up to 8 hours including sitting or standing mousing interacting with information on a computer monitor.
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Bending or standing as necessary.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee will primarily work in an office setting.
Exceptions include periodic recruiting events intern events and other inperson events that require prolonged standing walking bending crouching and may require transport of items up to 25 pounds.
Some travel may be required.
