We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Category Manager Indirect IT. This role is based in our head office in Oakville and reports to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager.

Job Purpose:

Working within the IPEX Strategic Sourcing organization this position will act as a partner to the IT group as well as other corporate functions and in line with the overall procurement strategy. Responsible for the sourcing strategy and implementation plan for IT services and materials at the regional and potential corporate level.

Main objectives are to negotiate contracts to realize savings and improve working capital secure the appropriate suppliers for the business develop a profound knowledge of the category to ensure the best sourcing decisions and continuously improve category management processes.

Work with Operations and Operational Purchasing to provide support for main categories

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead sourcing needs for IT purchases such as services Telecom software hardware etc. and professional services required by other functions including but not limited to HR Marketing and Legal.

  • Perform analysis of the portfolio of spend looking for synergy opportunities for negotiations across the business

  • Work closely with the client group to review future spend and set strategy for negotiations and secure multiple supplier bids where required

  • Negotiate agreements for required materials and services for client groups.

  • Assess the use of vendormanaged inventory or consignment programs and implement them where beneficial.

  • Maintain regular supplier relationships and business review meetings

  • Monitor / Evaluate / Mitigate singlesourcing situations

  • Develop new vendors and manage commercial relationships with existing vendors to ensure required vendor performance.

  • Design and implement Purchasing Action Plan (PAP) for responsible categories identifying targets assessing and initiating cost reduction opportunities and coordinating reporting of the same

  • Set up relevant Procurement critical metrics measure monitor and report

  • Cost analysis breakdown of cost components market price research

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education in Business Supply Chain or a related field

  • CSCMP from SCMAO or College or University program specialized in Supply Chain

  • 5 Years of experience in strategic sourcing with a strong preference for IT

  • Strong computer skills (excel word) strong communication skills
