Job Description

VHIR offers a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Research group of the Rehabilitation Service of VHIR in the spinal cord injury unit to coordinate the activities associated with the research study.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences
  • Master Clinical Research Associate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and Catalan
  • Essential level of English written and spoken for writing articles presenting at international conferences and managing international projects.
Desired:
  • Proficiency in standard computer programs including the MS Office package.
  • Familiarity with storage and analysis systems such as SPSS.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • At least 6 years experience working in clinical research
  • Minimum 3 years experience in program coordination and volunteer management in a healthrelated studies
  • Minimum 3 years experience in project and data management
  • At least 4 articles published in international indexed journals (preferably related to rehabilitation treatment)
  • Experience in patient recruitment and data collection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the rehabilitation unit of tertiary hospital including extensive experience in the treatment of their patients
  • Organized and methodical person with high motivation initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology standard clinical procedures and rehabilitation protocols
  • Experience with SAP management program
  • Good publication record
Desired:
  • Previous experience in the functioning of medical practices and in the ability to provide assistance support in a rehabilitation unit
  • Ability to coordinate and organize large teams facilitating communication and cooperation between the different research groups.
Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Coordinate and organize large teams facilitating communication and cooperation between the different research group
  • Collaboration with other researchers in all tasks necessary to achieve the working team objectives
  • Promote research capacity building among communitybased organizations and medical groups
  • Prepare research ethics board applications
  • Organize patient data collection and database maintenance
  • Keep track of data collection and analysis systems in support of research protocol
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient daytoday operation of research and data collection activities
  • Manage the daytoday activities of any technical support staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol
  • Carry out the of the instrumental measurements of the studies
  • Monitor the progress of research activities developing records of research activities
  • Support the dissemination and communication of studies results through the publication of articles and presentations at national and international congresses
  • Support the principal researcher in managerial activities
  • Prepare final project reports
  • Draft scientific papers and contribute to the overall preparation of research for publication

Labour conditions:

  • Parttime position: 30h/week
  • Starting date: As soon as possible.
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills (salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
  • Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
