Job Description
Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Hybrid Lexington MA (Onsite 3 days/week)
Job Type: W2 Contract
Background:
This group maintains and operates a space and airborne network wireless test bed in support of network research into tactical wireless communication systems. The test bed is composed of COTS switches routers workstations and network emulation devices integrated with customized or prototype government furnished devices. The infrastructure is distributed across several locations and includes aircraft and mobile ground assets. The team is need of an experienced embedded software engineer to help with the development of prototype network solutions.
Responsibilities:
This position requires an experienced software developer familiar with radio and network emulation to do system configuration and installation. This also requires software development based on current opensource network protocol implementations. A tool in this network test bed is Extensible Mobile Adhoc Network Emulator (EMANE) which is a software package that instantiates many military tactical data link systems. All the testbed technologies reside on Linux machines and the candidate should have extensive experience developing software for networked Linux systems.
Must Have:
- Software/applications: C/C scripting languages. Experience to include leveraging C standard libraries templates and other objectoriented programming techniques
- Experienced with Linux environment and set up
- Experienced with routers and switch configurations and programming
- 10 years minimum experience in software design and development IP network protocols and development and system integration field testing
- 5 years minimum experience with network emulation and modeling
- Experience working with EMANE software development
- Experience with software defined networking
- Experience with network test bed systems
- Experience with network emulation and modeling
- Experience with SIP RTP ED137
- Experience with virtualizations
Education & Experience: Bachelor's plus 10 years of relevant work experience.
Work Authorization: an active secret clearance is required due to the nature of the work.
