Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Biology Teacher eager to inspire highachieving students in a grammar school in Hounslow We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our esteemed Science department starting April 2025. Our Science department is a team of experts dedicated to delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum adapted to a midyear start focusing on advanced scientific concepts and practical laboratory work.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Biology lessons across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 following relevant examination specifications and adapting to the needs of students joining midyear by providing tailored bridging materials and accelerated learning pathways.
- Plan and prepare highquality lessons that cater to the needs of academically gifted students incorporating diverse biological perspectives and methodologies ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their scientific development despite the midyear commencement.
- Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources including advanced laboratory experiments data analysis research projects and scientific literature to enhance student learning and foster a deep understanding of biological principles.
- Assess student progress provide constructive feedback and support individual learning journeys fostering a deep understanding of biological concepts and skills and helping students integrate midyear by providing targeted assessments and personalized feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE and ALevel Biology examinations ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and scientific methodologies and providing targeted support for those joining midyear by focusing on key concepts and exam techniques.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology including advanced biological concepts and laboratory techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 including ALevel.
- Experience in preparing students for GCSE and ALevel Biology examinations.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate highachieving students including those joining midyear.
- A passion for biology and a commitment to fostering scientific inquiry and research skills.
- Ability to organize and lead laboratory investigations and research projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to quickly integrate into a school environment midyear.
