About Our Learning Community:

Our Technology department is a collaborative team dedicated to delivering an engaging and practical curriculum adapted to a midyear start focusing on culinary skills nutrition and sustainable food practices.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 following relevant examination specifications and adapting to the needs of students joining midyear by providing practical bridging activities and individualized support.
  • Plan and prepare highquality lessons that cater to a variety of culinary interests and abilities ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their practical development despite the midyear commencement with a focus on quick integration and skill development.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources including practical cooking sessions nutritional analysis food safety demonstrations and sustainable food projects to enhance student learning and make the subject relevant to their lives.
  • Assess student progress provide constructive feedback and support individual learning journeys fostering a deep understanding of culinary skills nutrition and food safety and helping students integrate midyear by providing targeted assessments and feedback.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and ALevel Food Technology examinations ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and food science methodologies and providing targeted support for those joining midyear by focusing on key concepts and exam techniques.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology including culinary skills nutrition and food science.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 including ALevel.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and ALevel Food Technology examinations.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and practical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities including those joining midyear.
  • A passion for food technology and a commitment to fostering culinary skills nutritional awareness and sustainable food practices.
  • Ability to organize and lead practical cooking sessions and community food projects.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to quickly integrate into a school environment midyear.
