Exciting Opportunity for a Cad Technician to Join Our Team!
Are you passionate about creating precise and impactful design drawings Do you love working with a team of talented engineers and contributing to innovative electrical infrastructure projects Were looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Cad Technicianto support our engineers in delivering cuttingedge electricity infrastructure designfrom initial concepts all the way through to aslaid records.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineers in delivering electricity infrastructure design drawings from concept to aslaid records.
- Produce the cable routes (based on the DNO standard) for Framework projects from sketches to aslaid drawings.
- Prepare 2D CAD electrical/civil design drawings for new electrical power systems projects consisting of:
- Geographic High Voltage cable routes.
- Geographic drawings showing the location of existing utility infrastructure.
- Multicore electrical wiring diagrams.
- Electrical schematic diagrams.
- Single Line Diagrams.
- Substation layouts.
- Substation cross section drawings.
- Substation building detail drawings as per the engineers comments.
- Obtaining Ordnance Survey Tiles.
- Undertake Utility searches Adopted Highway Searches and Legal Searches to assist with the creation of cable route drawings and Legal plans.
- Produce as laid drawings from site survey information.
- Produce site layout drawings with setting out coordinates (obtained from OS Background tile).
- Ensuring drawings are accurate compliant and delivered within agreed timescales.
- Offer full drawing support to clients and the design team.
- Always provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Maintain drawing record database.
- Maintain best practice in undertaking drawings.
- Attend to the sites to record the GPS coordinates when it is required.
Skills & Experience
- A detailoriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Strong experience with CAD design
- Experience with 3D Revit/AutoCAD would be beneficial.
